Stockholm is know as Venice of the North, which I think you can understand just by looking at the picture. The pictures are taken from our house. You can see both down town Stockholm (Globen and Kaknästornet) as well as the inner archipelago from the house.
At holidays we rent out our permanent house in Stockholm. The house is top modern and the size of the house is 180 m².
The surroundings are wonderful - you're out in the nature and at the same time "in the middle of Stockholm". It takes 20 minutes by car to down town Stockholm and 2 minutes to the ferry who takes you even further out in the archipelago.
You can choose between the best of two worlds, both are right outside your door!
The view from the house
The house is very transperent with lots of windows and 100 m2 veranda, so you have all the posibility to enjoy the view over the sea and the forest.
At the end of the road, 200 meters from the house, there is a perfect little beach. The beach, named Hansbo, has everything! First you walk through a little forest then you are at the beach which has both grass, sand and rocks - a paradise for adults as well as kids!
Facts regarding the house:
Location: The location is perfect. Nature is outside the door, lots of dears and occasionally elks can be seen right outside the door. The house is close to down town Stockholm and though in the achipelago. Tyresö Castle (Slot) is located only 2 km. away and has a little island in the garden named Notholmen, lots of activities are going on at the castle.
Within 10 km you can also reach Tyresta national park (the biggest national park in the world around a capital). In Tyresö Brevik where the house is located, there is lots of rocks and climbing the mountains around here is populare. Telegrafbjerget, is one of the highest hills in the Stockholm area and is located only 2 km. from the house. Also 2 km. from the house the ferry who takes you even further out in the achipelago is departing. the place is called Trinntorp and there is a little grocery store and restaurant located as well. If you go 2 km. in the other direction you will find a bigger and better grocery store. Within a distance on 7 km. you have Tyresö Mall (Centrum) where you have even more possibility to go shopping, golfing, sporting, swimming and much more.
There are plenty of information regarding activities going on in Tyresö and Stockholm. I recommend you to look at Tyresö kommunes hjemmeside and Stockholms Stads hjemmeside . Time schedule for the bus and ferry you get on Stockholms lokaltrafik and Waxholmsbolagets homepages.
The house: The house,build 2004, has very high standard and is very modern. We have designed and build it on our own. It has three floors and 5 entrances. There are 2 bedrooms, a entrance hall, a laundry room and a bathroom on the first floor. The second floor consist of a kitchen, a living room and a bathroom. The 3rd floor consist of two additionally bedrooms. Additionally there is a little extra guest house with simple standard. The house is provided with a IHC (Intelligent Home Control) system, which makes the electricity very adjustable as well as connection to the internet is possible everywhere in the house. Two rooms are today the children's room, so if you have small kids you do not need to think of bringing toys :-).
